Induction information for new postgraduate research students
Academic year 2021-22
Last updated: 11th July 2022

Welcome to the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) . In academic year 2021-22, around 200 new postgraduate research students (PGRs) are commencing their research degree in the Faculty. The PhD and other research programmes are managed by the Faculty Graduate School. The Graduate School has organised a Faculty welcome induction event for all new research students on Monday 27 September. However, with ongoing travel and other restrictions owing to the coronavirus pandemic, all the key induction presentations have been pre-recorded. You will find all the induction information from the Faculty Graduate School on this webpage. The slides for each presentation can be downloaded, and the talks can be streamed, via the clickable links.

Additionally, local inductions have been organised by your School or Department who will contact you about these sessions.

Our world-leading research activities carry on, despite the uncertainty and restrictions owing to COVID-19. We wish all our new research students all the very best in their studies at the University of Southampton.
